Map Network drive using group policy in Windows Server 2012

For this demonstration we have two user and one group and those two user are the member of that group.

Now we have to create a folder which we can share in the network and we can use it as to map the network drive.

I am create a folder name “IT users”.

Right click on the folder and open the properties option

Go to sharing then advanced sharing then click on share this folder and provide the share name and give the “$” sign for the hidden share and then click permission and here add the group on which we wan to share the permission

Now we have to create the GPO and apply it on the users, so open the group policy management editor and then go to the OU on which we want to create the OU and then right click on OU and then open the option “Create a GPO in this domain and link it here”, and then provide the GPO name and click OK

Right click on newly created GPO and click on edit, it will open the Group policy management editor

Go to user configuration then Preferences then Windows settings then Map network drive

Now when we login with user , we can see that the mapped network drive there.
