Deploy Wallpaper using Group Policy in Windows Server 2012

Steps we need to follow for common wallpaper using group policy

  • Create a share folder and store a wallpaper.
  • Create a GPO and edit setting for wallpaper.
  • Test on client computer.

# Create a share folder and store a wallpaper.

Create a new folder named wallpaper

Right click on wallpaper folder properties to apply the permission to the folder and share the folder.

Click on share this folder and provide the share name and mention the “$” sign for the hidden share and then click on permissions

Now configure the group policy setting , so go to Group policy management console, here we are applying this on entire domain so we will create the GPO on Domain Policy

Right click on domain and then click on ” Create a GPO in this domain and Link it here”.

Now open open the group policy management editor then go to user configuration then Administrative template then Desktop then go to right side panel and then click on Desktop wallpaper.

Now login on client computer with any of the user of the domain and check the wallpaper.
